How Did I Get Into Crochet?

I honestly feel like my answer won't be very interesting, but here we go. For about seven years, my craft life revolved around loomigurumi, first making bracelets but then once I found a massive doll pattern (14 inches tall!) I was obsessed and tried to make every outfit I could for the doll. I ended up making three dolls total and even experimented with my own clothing designs. But the only issues with loomigurumi is that it's kinda expensive, I'm talking 10 dollars for 600 stitches. Comparing that to over 1,500 stitches for 10 dollars, yarn definitely seems cheaper.

So, taking a step away from the financial side of it, yarn was a lot quicker for my to work with since it was all one long strand rather than individual rubber bands, making projects went a lot quicker, especially frogging parts of a pattern if I messed up with rubber bands, I would have to pull out each individual band, but with yarn I can just pull at the strand of yarn. It will unravel itself, which is really useful if I'm freehanding or made a mistake.

So how did I get into crochet? A simple and very intriguing story. One night, lying in bed, I was thinking about loomigurumi and thought, "How would I do this with yarn?" So I came up with an idea and tested it out with some yarn that my cousin had given me a few months back, and voila, it worked, so I decided to jump the gun and make a blanket. I thought that it would only take 2-3 weeks, it did not. It took me 9 months to finish it, it's more of a "I'll work on it later" story until finally I decided to finish the last two skeins of yarn which would effectively finish the blanket, it took 5 hours.

This kind of ties into the reason why I crochet plushies most of the time, since it is way more time efficient
